  • A 5k race is a running event that covers a distance of 5 kilometers, which is approximately 3.1 miles.

  • Nope! 5k races are often designed for people of all fitness levels. Many beginners use 5k races as a goal to work towards.

  • The time it takes to complete a 5k race varies widely based on individual fitness levels and goals. Elite runners might finish in around 15-20 minutes, while casual participants might take 30 minutes to an hour.

  • Yes! We welcome both runners and walkers. It's common for participants to mix running and walking to complete the race.

  • Wear comfortable athletic clothing and appropriate running shoes. Your running bib should also be fixed to the outside layer of your clothing to accurately read the timing chip.

  • Bring your race bib (if provided in advance), any required identification, water, and any necessary medical information.

  • Age limits can vary depending on the race. Some races might have minimum age requirements for participants. Check the race information for details.

  • We use electronic timing systems that attach to your bib or shoe. You'll receive your time and possibly split times after completing the race.

  • Yes. Parking is available underneath the James White Parkway overpass. Parking is free, but fills up quickly!

  • We recommend arriving well before the race starts to allow for parking, packet pickup, warm-up, and any potential delays.

  • There is not a bag check area. We encourage participants to only bring what is necessary for the race or have a trusted friend keep your personal belongings.

  • Yes! The more the merrier. But please remember, that only participants are allowed to partake in the drinks or pizza provided through the entry fee.

  • There are restrooms available inside Barley’s!

  • Yes! We will have a post-race ceremony with awards for all the top finishers.
